The main focus of basic life support is to help patients maintain adequate circulation, airways, and breathing (CAB). The BLS classroom training program is designed to teach skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), early assessment and recognition of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), foreign-body airway obstruction management, and rapid defibrillation with the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

This course is designed for child care provides. it includes child and infant CPR, AED, choking and basic first aid training. This course recently has changed due to state requirements. We will only offer the blended learning class option. The online portion must be completed at the American Heart assoc website , Upon completion you will schedule a skills session at our office. It takes about 1 hour. We charge $45 for this portion of the course.

The American Heart Association (AHA) has provided an online web-based and accessible 24 hour a day website that provides a flexible alternative to classroom training on all the courses listed below. Upon successful completion of the online course at shopcpr.heart.org, a completion certificate will be issued, and the printed copy must be presented at the skills testing session. An AHA BLS instructor will lead a structured DVD-led practice and skills testing session. Students should expect a 1-2 hour skills practice and testing session, depending on the course. An AHA BLS completion card will be issued upon successful completion of both portions. Prices vary on the online course portion. You do not need to purchase a book; it is included with the online part.
